Wayne Clark--Bass Trombone
Wayne Clark was an OKC PHIL substitue player for many years before making his official concert debut as a full member of the orchestra on July 4, 2004. Clark has been playing his instrument, the trombone, for more than 30 years.
His greatest musical influence is fellow OKC PHIL musician Dr. Irvin Wagner, his professor while at the University of Oklahoma. However, it was his euphonium teacher, Mike Helt, who suggested that he start playing the trombone in addition to the euphonium.
Clark has degrees in both Musical Education and Trombone and puts them to use by doing adjunct teaching at the University of Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma Christian Universities. He also has a private teaching studio in which he teaches trombone, euphonium, and tuba.
