And those very well known.

Our 2012-13 season is launched and released. And we're off to a great start renewing season tickets. Plus, requests for new orders are stacking up. All very exciting. But behind the scenes, we're also renewing commitments for financial support from all kinds of donors - individuals, corporations and foundations - as well as seeking gifts from new sources.

Planning a season for a performing arts organization is much like building a house on spec. You build it trusting your educated gut that someone will buy it. You see, we never truly know just how many tickets we will sell, nor how much money we can raise through gifts, grants and sponsorships. We can project these numbers, based on good relationships with our base of donors and through our best analysis of (ever-changing) trends in demographics, buying patterns, artist line-ups, competition, and so many other factors. And then there are the intangibles and unknowables.

That's why early renewals and early commitments are so very important to our planning and budgeting. Not only are we able to better recognize and thank our donors through their early commitments, but we're in turn better able to plan for the coming season. Sure, the basics of the three main concert series are set, but it's everything that is built around these core activities that can be made even more effective and satisfying through early commitments of funding.

We thank our loyal donors. Many have been partners since our founding 24 years ago. To these good friends we offer our most heartfelt appreciation. Music and music education are thriving through their generosity. If you would like to join this special group of supporters, I encourage you to contact me or our development office at 232-7575. Reward yourself and your community by giving to the OKC Philharmonic and enhancing our mission of inspiration and joy through orchestral music.

Thank you!

Getting Around Downtown and the Civic Center Music Hall

Constructions around downtown OKC and surrounding the Civic Center Music Hall might look challenging but with a bit of help, we hope it won't slow you down too much.
