Since 1973 the Symphony Show House has been the main fund raising event of the Oklahoma City Orchestra League (OCOL). Annually the OCOL selects a home within the community which is either historically significant or one that possesses outstanding architectural design to become the next Symphony Show House. The OCOL then invites exterior and interior designers to display their skills and talents. Lastly, the project is then opened to the public so that all may enjoy the magnificent home.
The success of this fundraising event has allowed the Oklahoma City Orchestra League to continue pursuing their mission of stimulating interest in orchestral music through educational activities and financial support for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Just this previous year the OCOL has presented the Oklahoma City Philharmonic with a check for $175,000 and over the 40 year history of the project, the League has raised more than $5 million.
